Prof. VANGUR RAVINDER REDDY has graduated BVSc &AH in 1981 from Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur and obtained M.V. Sc (Poultry Sci.) in 1983 and Ph.D. degree from College of Veterinary Science, R’nagar, Hyderabad, ANGRAU. He has more than 36 years of experience in the University in all the three wings of the University i.e. teaching, research and extension and as VC of PVNRTVU
He has vast experience in Teaching, Research and Administration, worked as Asst. Professor, Assoc. Professor and Professor Positions in Veterinary Colleges and Deputy Director of Extension (Vety.), Head office of ANGRAU. He Worked as Associate Dean from 08-08-2011 to 30-09-2013 in College of Veterinary Science, Korutla. He Worked as Dean of faculties from 01-01-2015 to 30-06-1018 in PVNRTVU. Retired as Dean & Registrar of the University in June 2018. He got opportunity to work as Vice-Chancellor from 18-01-2021 to 17-01-2024 in PVNRTVU.
He has 114 research articles published in various peer reviewed national and international journals in the field of Poultry Science and Veterinary Science. He has guided 9 M.V. Sc and 6 Ph.D. students as major advisor in Poultry Science. He has completed 8 research projects as PI and Co-PI in the field of Poultry research. He has participated in 12 national and international seminars and delivered keynote/ thematic presentations in various aspects of Poultry Sci. & Vety. Science
He has received one Gold Medal in Ph.D. degree. He received of Meritorious Extension Scientist Award in 2004 from ANGRAU and Meritorious Teacher Award in 2014 by Govt. of Telangana and Rythunestham Award in 2015 by Rythunestham foundation.
As a Dean of Faculties, He is instrumental in establishment of College of Fishery Science, Pebbair, Wanaparthy district in 2017 and College of Veterinary Science, Mamnoor, Warangal in 2018. He has been involved in establishment and subsequent development of PVNRT Vety. University in November 2014. During his tenure as VC, conducting recruitment of regular University officers, recruitment of teaching faculty of Veterinary and Fishery were taken up in 2021 and 2023. CAS for teaching faculty was done and promotions to non-teaching staff carried out. He is instrumental in development of infrastructure facilities at C.V. Sc, Mamnoor and CFSc, Pebbair. Obtained VCI accreditation to C.V. Sc, R’nagar and C.V. Sc, Korutla in 2022. He was involved in getting Accreditation of Colleges and PVNRTVU by ICAR. He successfully conducted 3rd and 4th University Convocations in March 2022 and April, 2023.
